Gymnastics


Shilese Jones was first invited to join the national team in 2018, and then again in 2020. She's an extremely strong gymnast who excels all-around, but continually places highest on vault and floor. Shilese has been given four international assignments, including once as an alternate, but wasn't able to compete at here 2020 assignment due to the coronavirus outbreak.


Some highlights from her gymnastics career include:


• Member of the Pan Am 2018 gold medal winning team

• Helped the team bring home gold at the 2019 City of Jesolo Trophy

• Placed first in the all-around, on vault, and on floor at the American Classic in 2018

 Won bronze on vault at the US Classic in 2019



Personal

Shilese Jones was born on July 26, 2002 in Seattle, Washington. She has one sister who is involved in competitive cheerleading. Shilese currently resides in Westerville, OH. When asked how she became involved in gymnastics at the age of 4, she responded,


"I was flipping around the house so my parents enrolled me in gymnastics."


When she's not in the gym, Shilese enjoys swimming, and judging by her recent social media activity, creating TikToks. She has showed the world that she's a pretty fantastic dancer as well!


Shilese is homeschooled, and is set to graduate in 2020. She will be attending the University of Florida as a member of their gymnastics team.
