Gymnastics

Jordan Chiles has been a member of both the junior and senior national teams on and off since 2013. Though she is a strong all-around gymnast, Jordan is known for her power and therefore excels on floor and fault. She has had a very successful career both stateside and internationally, especially through the 2018 season. In 2019 she announced that she was switching gyms and moved to train at the World Gymnastics Centre with teammate and friend, Simone Biles. The switch plus an injury to her wrist which eventually required surgery made for a fairly quiet 2019 for Jordan, but the change in gym and coaching staff has done amazing things for her gymnastics, so 2020-2021 are bound to be incredible seasons for her, and the gymnastics world cannot wait to see what she brings to the table.

Some highlights of her gymnastics career include:

• Member of the 2018 gold medal winning Pac Rim team

• Won individual gold on floor and fault at the Pac Rims in 2018

• Finished second at the US Gymnastics Championships in the all-around in 2017

• Gold medalist in the all-around at the City of Jesolo Trophy in 2016

Personal

Jordan was born on April 15, 2001 in Tualatin, Oregon the youngest of 5 children. She began gymnastics at the age of 6, and when asked how she got her start, she stated,

"My parents could not keep me from cartwheeling down the aisle of any open space or walking on my hands instead of my feet. People kept asking if I was in gymnastics. I had a lot of energy! So they put me in gym."

In her free time Jordan loves to shop. She graduated from Prairie High School in 2019 and committed to UCLA, deferring her freshman year with the purpose of starting in 2020 after the Tokyo Olympics. She plans to major in Zoology.

In addition to being an elite gymnast, Jordan is wonderful role model who loves helping children who may have challenges, and has spent many years as an active member of her church youth group helping out the community. Image from Jordan's Instagram
